If a 21-inch mower feels slow but you don’t want a rider, the Greenworks 25-inch mower asks a useful question: how much work can a wider walk-behind remove?

That’s a better reason to investigate it than the 80V label alone. The width, access, battery configuration, and quality of the finished cut all need to work together.

I’d shortlist this mower for open stretches of grass where fewer passes could save time. I’d be less interested for a small yard full of narrow gaps, short turns, and obstacles.

The Amazon kit and the manufacturer’s currently named kit use different identifiers. Confirm the exact equipment supplied instead of transferring every specification between similar-looking listings. That is particularly important for battery count and runtime.

What is actually in the listing?

The Amazon page describes an 80V, 25-inch, self-propelled dual-blade mower with headlights and the stated battery and charger. Its product-information table uses LMB406.

The Greenworks product page currently calls its kit LM2508S, SKU 2541402, and lists one 4.0Ah battery. The URL still mentions two batteries. Read the current kit contents, not the words left in an old URL.

We have not established that the two identifiers represent identical revisions. Ask the seller for the carton model, included battery model/count, and warranty terms. Don’t assume every 80V 25-inch listing is the same mower bundle.

How much time could four extra inches save?

For equal travel speed, overlap efficiency, and uninterrupted cutting, the time ratio between a 25-inch and a 21-inch cut is 21 ÷ 25 = 0.84.

A quicker route still requires enough stored energy to finish. Avoid comparing this kit with an owner’s two-battery bundle as though the box contents were identical.

I’d price any additional compatible battery before calling the package a bargain. I’d also compare remaining in an existing platform against starting another one. The value of a larger cut can be offset by equipment you must buy to support it.

For a hypothetical $150 premium, saving ten minutes across 25 sessions gives just over four hours a season. That makes the cost easier to assess, but neither the saving nor the price is a measured result. Use your route and actual quotes.

My verdict

This is the most interesting width-based purchase in this five-mower group. I’d investigate it for open turf and a mowing routine that needs shortening, subject to confirming the exact Amazon configuration.

If your yard is awkward rather than large, a standard-width mower may be easier to live with. If the kit details remain unclear, get a written answer or choose a clearly documented offer. A wider deck is only useful when the complete purchase works.
